Ospreys fans are able to pick up match tickets from more outlets than ever before thanks to the increasing network of Tesco stores now selling tickets for all home games.
Tickets have been available to buy at Tesco Extra stores in Bridgend, Fforesfach and Llansamlet, as well as from Tesco Neath Abbey and Swansea Marina, since last month, but now tickets are also available from the Pontardawe store.
In addition, the Bridgend town centre store, next to the Bridgend Ford Brewery Field, will also soon be selling tickets for the LV= Cup game between the Ospreys and Sale Sharks later this month, which marks the first regional match in the town for a year.
This latest development takes the number of outlets actively selling Ospreys tickets across the region to eight compared to just one - at the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office - as recently as last November.
Music Wales is operating as ticket agent, a role it has carried out successfully for Tesco and the Welsh Rugby Union for a number of years, ensuring a regular supply of tickets to the Tesco Stores involved in this agreement.
Yarnie Guthrie, Commercial Manager at the Ospreys, commented:
“Our continuing and growing relationship with Tesco is fantastic news for every Ospreys fan. Tesco’s support of the region is first class, and is a wonderful example of how a relationship can expand in several ways if you work collaboratively for mutual benefit.
“It has grown from initially being a straightforward commercial relationship where they agreed to sell an exclusive range of our merchandise, into something that covers off so much more.
“Significant for us as a business is the agreement to sell match tickets instore, which effectively sees us go from one ticket outlet to seven, with an eighth soon to be operating at Bridgend town centre for this month’s game in the town.
“Supporters now have the option to pick up Ospreys tickets while doing their weekly shop, what could be easier? We look forward to continuing to work with Tesco, growing this successful relationship even further over the coming seasons.”
Paul Sherman from Tesco said:
“Being able to sell tickets for all home games via our network of stores in the region is a fantastic opportunity for both the Ospreys and Tesco to give the public easier access to tickets, which should help achieve the aim of growing crowds.”
