Ospreys players will be visiting Tesco Extra at Cowbridge Road in Bridgend on Wednesday afternoon, ahead of the region's return to the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field at the weekend.
The Ospreys face Aviva Premiership table-toppers Harlequins at the home of Bridgend Ravens on Sunday 3rd February at a family friendly kick-off time of 5.00pm, and as anticipation grows in the town ahead of the big game, Tom Isaacs, Richard Fussell, Tom Habberfield and Tom Grabham will all be instore to meet supporters between 5.00 and 6.00pm on Wednesday.
They will be joined by Ozzie the Osprey, while they will also have the RaboDirect PRO12 trophy with them for supporters to get their picture with the silverware.
Bridgend youngster Tom Habberfield, who made his Heineken Cup debut in the recent draw against English giants Leicester Tigers at the Liberty Stadium, is looking forward to playing at his club ground in regional colours once again, after featuring in last season’s two LV= Cup games at the same venue.
“It’s really exciting to be going back ‘home’ to the Brewery Field with the Ospreys. I’m Bridgend boy, and there are lots of us in the squad at the moment, and we’re all looking forward to playing there in front of our families and friends.
“Harlequins have a great team and they are doing really well this season so it’s going to be a tough afternoon, but we’ve shown that we have a good young squad that is proud to wear the shirt.
“I played in the LV games against the Dragons and Northampton in Bridgend last season and they were great occasions. I’d expect it to be the same on Sunday with a good crowd getting behind their region, and the boys from Bridgend who are wearing the Ospreys shirt.
“Ahead of that, we’ll be in Tesco Extra in Bridgend and we’re looking forward to meeting supporters ahead of the game. Hopefully we’ll see plenty of them again at the game on Sunday.”
The Ospreys have teamed up with Tesco this season a new partnership that has led to a range of merchandise going on sale in Tesco supermarkets across Ospreylia.
Under the new deal, Ospreys fans can buy goods in a total of seven stores across the length and breadth of the region. As well as the regular home and away jerseys, Tesco also stock an exclusive range of clothing and accessories that complements the existing range on sale at the Ospreys Club Shop.
This comes after Tesco were confirmed as an official commercial partner of the Ospreys last summer, their familiar logo featuring on the iconic black jersey for the first time this season.
