Ospreys hooker, Carys Phillips, will lead Wales Women into action this weekend when they take on Scotland Women at their new BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park home on Saturday (KO 12:00).
Phillips is one of 10 Ospreys named in the match day squad, with five starting and five on the bench.
She is joined by Siwan Lillicrap, Shona Powell-Hughes, Kerin Lake and Ffion Bowen in the run-on team, with Amy Evans, Mel Clay, Adi Taviner, Keira Bevan and Rosie Fletcher on the bench.
Head coach Rowland Phillps said: “We’re really proud to call BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park home this season, and this Saturday’s match is an excellent way to begin our campaign in the capital city. We’ve had a very good couple of weeks in camp, so there have been some tough selection calls to make, but the aim is for everyone to get some game time with a fixture against the UK Armed Forces also to come on Remembrance Day.”
Phillips continued: “The Scotland squad has been in camp together a lot longer than us as they’re seeking World Cup qualification, so we know they’ll be coming to Cardiff well prepared for a tough encounter, so we should be in for a good match.”
Gates open on Saturday at 11:00, with adult tickets £5, with U16s tickets priced at £1. Tickets can be purchased online here. This match will not be televised, but supporters unable to attend can follow live updates on Twitter (@WelshRugbyUnion).
