Ride 2 Rugby 24/25 Philtronics

Philtronics LTD join the OitC Ride 2 Rugby as Title Partner

We are thrilled to announce that Philtronics LTD, long-standing supporters of Ospreys Rugby and Ospreys in the Community (OitC), has stepped up as the title sponsor for this season’s Ride 2 Rugby. This year’s exciting charity ride will take participants from Amsterdam to Paris, all to raise vital funds for OitC’s impactful community programmes.

Philtronics has been a familiar face to Ospreys and OitC for over a decade. As a passionate, locally rooted company committed to making a difference, Philtronics played a key role in establishing OitC’s award-winning partnership with Action for Children. Together, they’ve raised over £50,000 to support youth mental health initiatives.

Philtronics CEO, Simon Pritchard, first joined the Ride 2 Rugby in 2023 as a participant, raising over £5,000 himself. This year, Simon returns as both a sponsor and rider, joining a team of 60 cyclists from Amsterdam to Paris. The ride culminates with Wales taking on France in a thrilling rugby match, with a shared goal of raising £80,000 for OitC.

Funds raised through Ride 2 Rugby directly support OitC’s programmes, positively impacting thousands of lives in the local community. Last year, the event raised £58,000, enabling initiatives like a new Sporting Memories session at Porthcawl RFC, which supports individuals living with dementia and their carers.

The 2025 Ride has already surpassed last year’s fundraising total, further empowering OitC to expand the Sporting Memories programme and support projects like TACKLE, which helps reengage young people through education and employability initiatives.

Simon Pritchard, CEO, Philtronics LTD, said: “At Philtronics, we believe in the power of community and the impact of sport. We're proud to lead the charge in this year's Ride 2 Rugby, not just as sponsors but as active participants. This ride is more than just a journey from Amsterdam to Paris; it's a commitment to the wellbeing and future of our community through the incredible work of Ospreys in the Community."

OitC Head of Community Foundation, Tom Sloane, expressed his gratitude: “We’re delighted to partner with Philtronics on this year’s Ride 2 Rugby. Simon and Anne have been long-standing supporters of our community efforts, from raffles to sleepouts and bike rides. Their dedication truly embodies a commitment to making a difference.

“Like many organisations, we face challenges in ensuring our beneficiaries continue to receive support through vital projects. Partnerships like this not only help us meet these challenges but also create sustainable opportunities for those who need it most.”
