The rain held off for a day and the sunshine broke through the clouds this weekend when the Ospreys held their annual staff and family barbecue at Llandarcy.
Players, coaches, office staff, wives, girlfriends, husbands, boyfriends and children enjoyed a relaxed afternoon at the Ospreys training base on Saturday, where they were able to mingle in a social environment ahead of the new season.
With catering supplied by The Outside Inn Company, who provided a hog roast, there was definitely a feel of mucking in on the day as the guests supplied salads and deserts to accompany the roast, many of which were home made.
As well as children, the likes of Marty Holah and Jonathan Humphreys also brought along the family dog, providing additional entertainment for the children present as they were taken for a walk by the dogs!
Ospreys Managing Director Roger Blyth, who attended the function, said:
"Thankfully the rain held off for one day this weekend and it coincided with our family barbecue day at Llandarcy, helping to ensure that the day was a great success. With us operating out of two sites, at the Liberty Stadium and at Llandarcy, it's good to be able to bring everyone together in a social environment, with their families, where they can relax and get to know each other away from work."
"It was fantastic to see so many people attending, and even better to see all the children enjoying themselves. We like to think of ourselves as one big family at the Ospreys and this weekend's barbecue certainly helped to make it a happy family!"
Paul James attended the barbecue with his family and he said that it was a very enjoyable afternoon:
"It's great to get everyone together for something like this. I know that my children enjoyed their afternoon playing with all the other children. With all the staff, players and management coming together with our families it certainly helps to bring a feeling of togetherness to the group ahead of the new season."
