Despite a large half time lead for the Ospreys U16s, a strong second half meant it was all equal at the final whistle.
The Ospreys East U16s kicked off their 2016/17 WRU Regional Age Grade season last night with a trip to Parc Y Scarlets to face the Scarlets East U16s.
The match was a real game of two halves with both teams enjoying an entirely dominant 35 minutes on the scoreboard each. It was all Ospreys in the first half, Josh Sands kicking off the scoring for the visitors within the first 5 minutes. Sam Costelow with a successful conversion.
While the two sides kept each other honest for a while, it was again the Ospreys East U16s that found the try line. Scott Ryall powering over, before another good kick from Costelow.
The Ospreys’ Cory Taylor finished the first half scoring with an unconverted try after the clock had gone red.
HT: Scarlets East U16 0 – 19 Ospreys East U16
The home team came into their own in the second half, with only a minute played Theo Barnes-Watson got them their first points of the game with a try that was converted by Bradley Roderick.
As the game entered the final quarter, two tries in quick succession for the Scarlets East scored by Llew Phillips Taylor and Liam Cox put them right back into the game. But with Roderick only able to add one conversion the home team were able to claim the draw but not the win.
