Three days before the season membership earlybird deadline, Andrew Hore has called on supporters to invest in “the future of the region”.
Saturday is the final day for supporters to renew their membership or purchase new ones at the special earlybird prices which start at just £99 (existing) or £165 (new), providing access to all 16 home games in 2014/15.
Having seen the Ticket Office kept busy by supporters flocking to the Liberty Stadium to ensure they don’t miss out, Ospreys Chief Executive Hore urged anyone still to purchase their memberships to do so before close of business on Saturday.
“I can’t stress enough how crucial to our future the supporters are” said Hore.
“We have a fantastic facility here in the Liberty Stadium, we have an exciting young team that has a bright future ahead of it, and we have great supporters who I would say are among the best there is. That’s an extremely positive place to be, despite all the difficulties we’ve had to face up to this season, and it provides a real platform for us to build from over the coming seasons.
“Over the last few years this business made a conscious decision to invest into our development pathway, and when you see the quality young players that have started to come through over the last 12 to 18 months, we are really seeing the benefits of that investment and it is exciting.
“We’ve led the way in Wales for the last 10 years and this new generation of players, if given the opportunity to stick together over the next two, three years or more, can not only safeguard the legacy of players who have worn the jersey before them, but can potentially achieve even greater things.
“To enable that though, we need to grow our revenues in order to ensure we can keep these players at the Liberty. There are various ways of doing that, through TV deals, commercial deals, and through central support from an understanding Union working in collaboration with the regions. The most visible way though is through increasing match day crowds.
“It’s no coincidence that the great teams, the big teams who win big matches, they enjoy the benefit of big crowds. If we can get more people watching the Ospreys week in, week out, it will make a huge difference to our ability to keep this group together in the longer term. Bigger crowds mean more ticket revenue and more sales in the Club Shop, and bigger crowds help to inspire the team on the pitch.
“Our season membership packages for 2014/15 reward existing members for their ongoing support but also offer new members a fantastic value deal. We remain Wales’ leading region on and off the field, and that is a position we have no intention of surrendering. Being an Ospreys member isn’t just about turning up at the Liberty Stadium on a matchday. If you decide to invest in a season membership, then you are investing in the future of the region. You are a part of the team going on this fantastic journey, helping to keep this group of exciting young players together as they grow and mature on and off the field. For this team, it really is a case of ‘cometh the hour, cometh the man’, as this really is their time.”
