The Ospreys in the Community Senior Girls Rugby Camp took place earlier this week and was enjoyed by all who attended. The camp was for girls aged 13-17 and was held at our training facility in Llandarcy.
The afternoon gave girls insight into the life of a professional player and gave them the opportunity to participate in authentic training sessions that players would typically be taking part in at this time of year.
Attendees were able to soak up a wealth of rugby knowledge from our female coaches, who have both played and coached at high levels within the game.
The coaches delivered a wide range of skill-based sessions around both the technical and tactical side, whilst also focusing the mental side of the game.
Particular highlights of the day included some top ball handling in two ball touch, and some great counter rucking and tackling in a full contact session.
Aside from the rugby, there was also a strength and conditioning session that introduced the girls to lifting weights and building on what they already knew if they were familiar.
The camp was led by an all-girls coaching staff that included Participation Officers for Ospreys in the Community, Charlie Mundy and Kaitlyn Prosser. Kaitlyn is also a current Wales 18s Womens player.
Keep your eyes peeled for the video of the camp on our socials!
