Ospreys in the Community are thrilled to announce that Sinclair Land Rover Swansea have become the Official Vehicle Partner of the foundation, helping us to deliver our projects and programmes to more people across the region including Title Partner of the TACKLE programme, Title partner of the Defender Touch League, and Defender Camps partner.
Part of the Sinclair group, a passionate family run business anchored within Wales driving the standards within the motor industry, Sinclair Land Rover Swansea are excited to serve the communities that has helped it grow to the company it is today. The “Defender” is an trailblazer in its own right, and wants to inspire those within sport to do the same through embracing the impossible to change the face of the sport, from overcoming disability to tackling discrimination.
Along with our existing partners, Sinclair Land Rover Swansea will join us on the journey through our 10th year and beyond as we look to support more people across our region and further.
The TACKLE programme, an initiative developed by Ospreys in the Community, uses the power of sport to make a transformative impact on the lives of young individuals aged 12-16, who are disengaged from traditional educational settings. TACKLE provides a unique approach to learning that builds confidence, fosters teamwork, and encourages personal development among its participants.
The support of Sinclair Land Rover Swansea will give TACKLE students the chance to understand the career opportunities they can offer, both in the showrooms and workshop and an exclusive look behind the scenes at the newly opened Swansea Showroom.
Additionally, Sinclair Land Rover Swansea have become the title partner of the recently launched OitC’s Defender Touch League, which encompass 250 players and runs over 10 weeks. The league promotes community engagement, physical activity, and sportsmanship across all ages.
Further expanding their influence in the community rugby space, Sinclair Land Rover Swansea will become the title partner of the ever-popular Defender Rugby Camps. The camps have expanded exponentially over the last 18 months and include Wales’ first elite girl’s only rugby camp.
Tom Sloane, Head of Community Foundation Ospreys in the Community, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership, stating: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Sinclair Land Rover Swansea as our title partner for these key community initiatives. When we started discussions we realised our values and vision for the region aligned, leading to a natural fit where we could do more together. They jumped on board straight away and even provided us with a Defender as the support vehicle for our Ride 2 Rugby earlier this year.”
“Their commitment to community values and passion for positive change makes them the perfect fit for our programmes. Together, we aim to make a substantial impact on the lives of young people, inspiring them through the power of sport.”
Nicky Boyce, Head of Franchise at Sinclair Land Rover Group, said: "We are proud to be a strong contributor to the local economy and actively engage with the community in which we operate. The partnership with Ospreys Foundation was a natural fit, as our community focussed values, alongside the Defenders’ strong association with Rugby and embracing the impossible characteristics, align perfectly. Through the power of sport, our teams are able to connect and make a positive impact in our local community”
Alongside playing an active role in other Ospreys in the Community projects, Sinclair Land Rover Swansea will also provide two Land Rover Defenders to assist with OitC’s logistics across all programmes.
