Dan Baker has undergone surgery on his shoulder and will miss the last two games of the season.
The big number eight went under the knife at Spire Hospital, Cardiff, on Thursday and will now target a return to full training in pre-season. The surgery meant he missed the region's annual dinner last night where he was due to receive his Ospreys cap for passing 50 appearances earlier this season.
“Dan aggravated a shoulder issue in the Treviso game” confirmed Chris Towers, Medical Performance Manager.
“Given the nature of his problem, following discussions with the specialist and the national medical team, it wad decided that it would be in Dan’s best interests to cut short his season and prioritise getting the shoulder repaired.
“With surgery this week he will continue across the summer, reintegrating into rugby during the pre-season period.”
