In a social media signing spectacular, the Ospreys announced today that Tristan Davies, Will Griffiths, Rhys Henry, Luke Scully and Ben Warren had signed new deals with the team.
The signings will fill key slots in the squad’s pack options, and at fly half.
Will Griffiths, a player who has previously captained the Ospreys, missed most of last season through injury and will be looking to pick up where he left off. He currently has 49 appearances in the first team and will hope to add to his tally.
Ben Warren and Rhys Henry will be welcome renewals for the Ospreys front row, and both players will be looking to build on their appearances so far for the team.
With the departures of Gareth Anscombe and Stephen Myler following the 22/23 season, Scully will also add some quality depth in the fly half position.
A 6’4 forward whose attitude has been previously commended by Head Coach Toby Booth, Tristan Davies’ versatility allows him to do a job at lock and in the back row. Davies has also represented Wales at u20 level.
Speaking on the signing announcements, Head Coach Toby Booth said:
"The decision to re-sign these players was an easy one for us as a coaching staff. They have proven themselves to be assets to the Ospreys both on and off the field and we are excited to see how they continue to grow and contribute to the team moving forward.
“By investing in our young talent, it allows us to maintain a strong core group of players who understand our system and values. We are confident that these boys will provide both further quality and continuity to our squad.”
