By compleeting their fourth Reebok win on the trot the Young Ospreys under 18's have ensured their place in the December 23rd Reebok Final at Llandovery RFC.
Although they have qualified with an unblemished record so far they certainly haven't been given an easy run in the during their last three matches. At Abertillery last Wednesday (31st October) the Dragons where finally thwarted as the referee blew for full time with them camped on the Ospreys try line and a scoreline of 15 to 11 in the Young Ospreys favour. The win came with a cost however as full back Chris Lewis was helped off after a minute of the game with a hamstring injury and, early in the second half with the line at his mercy wing Ryan Bayliss pulled up with a similar injury. With two matches to go before the final coaches Phil John, Gethin Watts and Andrew Millward will certainly be keeping the players on their toes and ensuring that complacency doesn't enter their mindset. For the Young Ospreys there were tries by No 8 Scott Hicks from a driving lineout and centre Kristian Phillips (pictured) finished off an excellent backline option with a try at the corner. Phillips converted one of the tries and also added a penalty. For the Dragons full back Tom James kicked 2 penalties and wing Matthew Pewtner scored a try. Next up for the under 18's will be a home match with the Blues at Llandarcy Academy of Sport on Wednesday, 28th November, 7.15pm kick off.
