The squaddies, all passionate Ospreys fans, have recently returned to south Wales for Christmas after a six-month term of service in Iraq, where they have been flying the flag for both the Ospreys and Wales as part of the peacekeeping mission. At Liberty Stadium, injured British Lion Ryan Jones and New Zealander Damien Karauna formally presented the sextet with a signed Ospreys shirt, having previously sent it to Iraq to raise the troops spirits.
Private David D’Angelo of Ammanford said:
“We would like to thank everyone involved in having the Ospreys shirt signed by the team. It was a very big morale booster for myself and the rest of the lads, we had a buzz showing off the shirt to the boys who support the other regions!
