Speaking ahead of the game, Head Coach for Bryncethin Youth, Karl Ryall said:

“The start to the season has been exciting with having more than half the squad being first years. This along with not being able to field our best 15 at any stage has meant the results don't appear to be as promising as I believe they are. With just one win out of the first four games we will be looking to improve that statistic this week.”

“Some of the players to watch are our team Captain, who happens to be my son Scott Ryall who is leading the team from no.8. The younger players really look up to Scott both on and off the pitch. Our two second row players also have a wealth of experience. Tobias Hunt, who is now studying at Cardiff Met returns every week to lead our lineouts while Rhodri Baylis cover the field unlike any other lock I have seen.”

“The back line could feature a number of different people but the team has yet to be picked but if they are playing look out for Cory Ryall, Scotts younger brother as well as hard tackling Rhys Crawley.”

Giving his views ahead of the game, Head Coach of Nantymoel Youth, Andrew Blowing said: “We’re still early stages into the season, playing friendly games mostly. We’re currently two games into the league with one draw and one win which we picked up on the road last week against a good Bridgend Sports team, We are hoping to continue progress this season from last season, where the boys are still putting in the hard work and effort in training and most importantly, they are enjoying it. “

Speaking ahead of the game, Nantymoel Youth Captain Harri Sendell said: “We haven’t had the best start to the season but with our first win last Saturday under our belt down at Bridgend Sports , hopefully the season is on a rise from there, we’re looking to maintain a good positive attitude this Saturday against Bryncethin who we know will be a tough opposition.”

This is a long-established fixture which usually throws up some great rugby across all age groups and seniors, and Youth is no exception, with some close games over the years. Coincidently, both clubs were founded in the same year 1887.

Dunvant Youth team kicked off the season with a losing bonus point at home to Vardre, followed by an away bonus point win at Gorseinon, a convincing Swansea and District Cup win at Gowerton, and then back to Gorseinon in the Welsh Bowl for another resounding win.”

Team Captain, Iwan Buckley said: “This game is a challenging one, but I know the boys are up for it and we’ve trained hard and the hard work, I’m sure, will pay dividends on Saturday.”
